Leadership is always actual and aspirational. Leaders take the helm, guide the ship, serve people, steward the mission, teach and equip their team and the followers they serve . . . and they do it all while learning how to be a better version of themselves. The best ones that is. Peter Teague is one of the “best ones.”
I had the privilege of following Dr. Peter Teague’s remarkable leadership of Lancaster Bible College. Teague served as President of LBC for twenty-one years (1999-2020), maintaining constancy of mission while guiding the institution to become the second-largest Bible College in the United States and creating the school’s world-wide impact. Dr. Teague did this while leading Jessica and Friends, a four-star (highest rating) charity that offers residential services, training in daily living skills, and social services to adults with developmental disabilities.
In my view, Jesus Leader serves as the kind of guide that Oswald Sanders gave when he wrote Spiritual Leadership. Jesus Leader is both description and prescription. Best of all, it is written by one looking back on a lifetime of living what he promotes.
