by John C. Lennox
I have thoroughly enjoyed, learned, and benefited from 2084 And The AI Revolution. John Lennox has such a great grasp of the subject and the best worldview perspective regarding AI of anything I have read.
AI seems to teeter between APPLICATION: How we utilize AI to achieve great things (think: Superagency: What Could Possibly Go Right With Our AI Future, by Reid Hoffman of LinkedIn fame, and Greg Beato) and SAFETY: How we safeguard the technology, environment, and people (low-level wage workers) who work behind the scenes to code data (think Empire AI by Karen Hao). Lennox hits both of these, but goes further. He helps us to think “Christianly,” that is assess AI from a distinctly Christian and biblical perspective.
Lennox is no Sunday School armchair “AI expert.” He is mathematician, bioethicist and Oxford Professor of Mathematics Emeritus. Lennox earned a doctorate in mathematics from the University of Cambridge, followed by second and third doctorates from the University of Oxford and Cardiff University. He is an internationally renowned speaker and author of several books on the interface of science, philosophy and religion
